If you have a specific question regarding your Porsche that is not answered here, please give us a call or submit the enquiry form because we can help - we will assist you personally.
Yes - Porsche's twin-turbo flat-six engines are massively over-engineered for their factory power output. The 3.0T 9A2 in the 911 Carrera runs the same core architecture as the Turbo S, which makes 478kW from the same displacement. A Stage 1 remap on a Carrera operates well within the hardware's safe limits. We validate on NZ 98 RON and log knock activity and boost response before finalising the tune.
A PDK tune isn't mandatory, but it meaningfully improves the result. The factory PDK shift logic prioritises comfort and fuel economy - after an engine remap, the gearbox can feel out of step with the new power delivery, particularly if you're in Sport or Sport+ mode. A transmission tune sharpens shift timing, improves torque converter lockup and adjusts shift points to work with the new power curve. Many Porsche owners find the PDK tune alone makes a noticeable improvement to how the car drives.
A 992-generation 911 Carrera 3.0T typically gains 40–60kW on Stage 1, moving it from 283kW to 330–340kW. A Cayenne 3.0T V6 gains 30–50kW, and a Cayenne Turbo 4.0T V8 can gain 50–80kW. Macan GTS gains 35–50kW. These are consistent, repeatable results. It's worth noting that the difference between, say, a Carrera and a Carrera GTS is largely software - which shows you exactly what the hardware is capable of.
Yes, technically it voids the powertrain warranty on vehicles still under factory cover. For newer Porsches, this is worth weighing carefully. Most Porsches being tuned in New Zealand are outside the original warranty period, so this is rarely a practical concern. Independent Porsche specialists can maintain your car to manufacturer standards regardless. We recommend discussing your specific situation with us before booking if warranty coverage is a concern.
