Yes - the Skyactiv-D in the BT-50 and CX-8 is a well-engineered diesel that handles calibration well within safe limits. Its high compression ratio and precision injection system mean it responds cleanly to boost and fuelling adjustments. Yes - the 2.5T Skyactiv engine in the CX-5 Turbo, CX-8 Turbo and CX-9 responds well to Stage 1 calibration. Gains of 25–40kW and 50–80Nm are typical, taking the CX-5 Turbo from around 170kW to 195–210kW. The improvement is most noticeable in overtaking responsiveness and highway merging - the car feels noticeably more willing and less in need of aggressive throttle inputs.
