Yes - the GW4C20 2.0T and 1.5T GW4G15 turbo petrol engines are modern, well-engineered platforms that handle conservative Stage 1 calibration safely. We validate on NZ 98 RON fuel, logging boost response and knock activity before finalising the tune. As a relatively new brand in the tuning ecosystem, we apply careful, proven strategies and don't push limits aggressively - reliability is the priority.
Yes - the 7-speed DCT in most Haval models responds to transmission calibration that sharpens shift timing and improves clutch engagement. After an engine remap, the gearbox can feel slightly out of step with the improved engine response. A combined engine and transmission tune delivers the most cohesive result. We assess on a case-by-case basis and advise whether the combined tune is worthwhile for your specific driving patterns.
A Haval H6 or Jolion 2.0T on Stage 1 typically gains 20–35kW and 50–80Nm. For a family SUV, these gains significantly improve real-world confidence - overtaking on the open road, merging at motorway speed and maintaining pace with a full load all feel noticeably better. The throttle response improvement is often as impactful as the raw power gain, making the car feel more alert and willing in everyday driving.
We recommend 98 RON for all tuned Haval turbo petrol models. The higher octane allows the engine management system to advance ignition timing more aggressively, which is where a meaningful portion of the performance gain comes from. Running 95 RON on a tuned Haval is possible, but the ECU will retard timing to protect against knock, reducing the benefit of the tune. New Zealand 98 RON is widely available from major fuel brands at a modest cost premium.
