Yes - the 2.0L bi-turbo diesel in the Ranger is a modern, well-built engine with strong internals and good factory safety margins. Stage 1 tuning stays within safe boost, EGT and fuelling limits, and we log exhaust gas temperatures under load to confirm the turbochargers aren't being stressed. The Ranger is one of the most common vehicles we tune, and it's a platform we know thoroughly.
Absolutely - the EcoBoost 2.3T is an outstanding tuning platform. Stage 1 typically delivers 40–60kW more power, taking the Mustang from around 215kW to 255–275kW. With an intake and exhaust (Stage 2), you can push well past 300kW. The engine shares architecture with the Focus RS and the Ranger Raptor, so it's a platform with a strong, well-understood tuning base. Transmission tuning for the 10R80 auto is also available.
Significantly. The bi-turbo Ranger diesel gains 80–120Nm of torque on Stage 1, which makes a real difference when you're climbing Bombay Hills with a loaded trailer. Low-end torque from 1,500–2,500RPM improves most, which is exactly the range you're working in when towing under load. Many Ranger owners report that the car pulls in a higher gear with less effort - reducing heat, transmission stress and fuel use on long towing runs.
On petrol EcoBoost models, the answer is largely dependent on how you drive. The extra torque means you need less throttle in normal driving, but most people use the extra performance. On diesel Ranger models, the efficiency gains are more consistent - stronger mid-range torque reduces time spent at high load, and many owners report 5–8% better fuel economy on regular runs. The Everest diesel in particular tends to show clear efficiency improvements after tuning.
