Yes - both the HEMI V8 and Pentastar V6 are robust, well-proven engines with a strong tuning track record across Dodge and Ram applications. The HEMI in particular has proven internal strength at elevated power levels. Stage 1 tuning operates within safe operating limits, and we validate on NZ fuel with AFR and timing data logged before delivery.
On HEMI V8 models, modest fuel economy improvements are possible at motorway cruise speeds because the engine needs less throttle to maintain pace with improved torque. Realistically, the gains are 4–8% on highway runs for conservative drivers. If you use the extra power enthusiastically in urban driving, economy will stay similar or increase slightly. Many 300 owners tune primarily for the improved driving feel rather than expecting significant fuel savings.
A 300 with the 5.7L HEMI gains 25–40kW on Stage 1, improving mid-range torque and making the car feel more effortless at motorway speeds. A 300 SRT with the 6.4L 392 HEMI gains 30–50kW - real performance gains in a car that already commands attention. The 3.6L Pentastar V6 picks up 20–30kW, which improves day-to-day driving noticeably in what is a large, heavy car.
It's worth considering. The TorqueFlite 8-speed is a smooth, capable gearbox, but its factory calibration prioritises leisurely, comfort-biased shifts that don't match a remapped HEMI's improved character. A transmission tune sharpens shift timing, tightens the torque converter lockup and makes the whole driveline feel more cohesive. For a 300 SRT in particular, the combined tune delivers a significantly better result than the engine remap alone.
