Yes - the LT1 and EcoTec3 are modern GM V8 engines with strong internals and extensive global tuning track records. The Camaro SS LT1 in particular is a performance-focused engine that handles Stage 1 calibration well within its margins. The EcoTec3 V8 in Silverado trucks uses cylinder deactivation and AFM systems that we account for specifically in the calibration to ensure smooth, reliable operation post-tune.
Yes - the Duramax 2.8L diesel in the Colorado is a well-built unit that gains 30–50kW and 70–100Nm on Stage 1. For a mid-size ute competing with the Ranger and Hilux in NZ, these gains make it a stronger proposition for towing and load carrying. EGT management is logged under load to confirm safe operation. Many NZ Colorado owners use their vehicles for towing boats or horse floats, and the torque gains make a real difference on grades.
A Camaro SS with the LT1 6.2L gains 30–50kW on Stage 1, moving from around 313kW to 345–365kW. A ZL1 with the LT4 6.2L supercharged engine gains 40–65kW, pushing it past 490kW. These are significant gains in already very powerful cars. The improvement is most noticeable in mid-range torque delivery - the Camaro feels more urgent from a rolling start and less in need of downshifts on highway runs.
For the LT1 and LT4 V8 engines in the Camaro, we calibrate on NZ 98 RON and recommend it post-tune. GM's active knock control will adjust timing on lower octane fuel, but you'll lose some of the performance gain. For the EcoTec3 in Silverado trucks, 95 RON is acceptable for Stage 1, though 98 RON gives a slightly better result. Duramax diesel tunes work on standard NZ pump diesel without issue.
