A properly calibrated tune within safe limits is generally safe for EA888 petrol and V6 3.0 TDI engines, as long as boost, timing, and fuelling remain within factory tolerances. Most failures discussed online come from aggressive max-power files or poor fuel quality. A conservative Stage 1 tune retains factory safety strategies including knock control and EGT limits, making it suitable for daily-driven NZ vehicles running 95 or 98 RON.
