Yes - the 2.9T is a Ferrari-derived engine built for high-performance use, with strong internals and significant factory headroom. It's the same basic architecture as engines producing over 500kW in Ferrari applications, so the hardware is well capable of handling Stage 1 tuning at safe boost and fuelling levels.
